The Point, a mixed use scheme also located in Hayes, London and now substantially constructed, provides 20% of its energy via renewable technology with the use of a large centralised biomass boiler plant connected to a Combined Heat and Power plant (CHP) to generate both hot water for heating, and electricity when spare capacity exists. Together with this scheme’s well insulated facades, high performance glazing and other passive and active features the scheme has a very low environmental impact. Wandsworth Business Village, Chiswick Lodge and an office scheme in Gliwice in Poland are a few of the other highly sustainable schemes the practice has designed.
