ROLFE JUDD / NEWS / WESTMINSTER BUSINESS SQUARE GETS PLANNING PERMISSION

Westminster Business Square

Westminster Business Square has been granted full planning permission and conservation area consent by Lambeth Council, subject to the completion of the section 106 agreement. The permission is for 6740sq.m of Class B1a (office) accommodation and a 210sq.m café/restaurant.

Westminster Business Square is situated on Durham Street in Vauxhall, London and combines both new build and refurbishment elements. The client, Workspace Group set a ‘green brief’ for the development which required a flexible strategy that could be implemented within both the existing and new buildings, whilst at the same time ensuring minimal disturbance to the tenants - many of whom will be able to stay on site during the reconstruction.

The design is anticipated to achieve over 45% energy savings when measured against a standard office buildings and features natural ventilation, rainwater harvesting, ground source heat pumps and solar thermal panels combined with a sophisticated building management system. The contemporary design will compliment the adjacent Rolfe Judd scheme and complete the redevelopment of Durham St.
