Approval Granted for Ealing Development

The redevelopment of a one and half acre, brownfield site in Northfields has gained planning approval from Ealing Council Planning Committee. The residential-led, mixed-use scheme at Orion Park will transform the industrial site, providing new homes, retail and commercial space on a dilapidated site with a prominent location, directly opposite Northfields underground station.

“We are particularly pleased to be involved in this project which will sensitively regenerate an under-utilised brownfield site into a mixed use development delivering 35% affordable residential accommodation by habitable room. The team, led by Matt Gray and Jonathan Mills, have worked very hard to achieve this result and should be congratulated for producing such an elegant design solution on a very restricted site.”

A pedestrianised colonnade runs the length of the linear site linking four new buildings which range from two to six storeys in height

In total, 76 apartments will be built. Reflecting the rich brick heritage of the local area the contemporary scheme is designed in masonry, with varying tones, paired with metal panel accents. A pedestrianised colonnade, hard and soft landscaped gardens and rooftop terraces contribute to a design which is both sympathetic and complimentary to its surrounding context. Additionally, the scheme will bring vacant retail space along the high street back into use, further contributing to the local area.
