A new build residential development in a conservation area close to Westminster Abbey and the Houses of Parliament. The design comprises nine high specification apartments over an underground car park.
The building elegantly follows the curve of the street, flowing around the corner, with a façade in hand-made red brickwork. This is complimented with grey metal cladding to the penthouse storeys and to the new metal window frames.
The proportions of the window openings follow the traditional context; however, each of the windows is slightly offset in plan to create a more contemporary interpretation. Some of the windows feature ‘Juliet’ balconies which activate the facades and underline the project’s residential purpose.
