Transformation of a faded Grade ll listed department store into a thriving, mixed-use development in the heart of the West End.
The main Dickins & Jones department store traded here for just over 170 years. This important building is now completely transformed with a well considered remodelling design and complete refurbishment. It now provides prime office space to the upper floors, flagship retail space to the lower floors and a roof-top restaurant and terrace with stunning panoramic views.
Our analysis of the prominent island site, on one of London’s busiest shopping streets, and its context, revealed a unique series of constraints and complexities.
Prime retail space fronts on to the main shopping artery of Regent Street as well as Great Marlborough Street and Little Argyll Street. The new office accommodation reception is located on Argyll Street.
Key features were retained in the retail space to appeal to international retailers wishing to create something special for a principal UK store.
