33 Kingsway, Aldwych has been transformed into a contemporary, modern work environment befitting its prominent Central London location, providing over 50,000 square feet of sustainable, flexible, Grade A office space and amenity, complemented by a new reception, activity hub and dedicated gym.
Through a comprehensive retrofit approach, the scheme strives to create meaningful alterations to the existing structure, repositioning it strategically while concurrently amplifying its energy efficiency and sustainability profile. Central to the design philosophy is the enhancement of the tenant journey by crafting spaces that are not only flexible and functional but also imbued with a sense of comfort and delight.
The interventions encompass a spectrum of elements ranging from a new refurbished main entrance and reception area to upgraded end-of-trip facilities and CAT A+ refurbishments for select floors. By integrating these elements, the project aspires to redefine the building’s identity, positioning it as a beacon of contemporary sustainability and tenant-centric design excellence.
By seamlessly blending contemporary design elements with the building’s historic features, the scheme creates distinctive yet contextually sensitive entrances that enhance the overall aesthetic and functionality of the structure.
Sustainability lies at the core of the project, with a proactive approach evident in the incorporation of energy-efficient MEP systems, locally sourced materials, and biophilic design elements. The design upgrades the building to provide BREEAM Excellent, Active Score Platinum, and a target rating of EPC A. The fully fitted CAT A+ floor demonstrates the potential for exciting contemporary and sustainable workspace within the generously daylit floor plate.
