36 Carnaby Street

This project is a significant part of the revitalisation of Carnaby Village by Shaftesbury PLC. The project area, with its own bespoke mix of uses and unique community spirit, includes Carnaby Street, Foubert’s Place and Kingly Street.

Comprising retail at basement, ground and first floor levels and office accommodation at second, third and fourth floor levels, 36 Carnaby Street is a significant new addition to this important location.

The design was driven very much from the desire to achieve a crisp response, which reflects the rich historical context of the streetscape, whilst retailing its own integrity. The primary street façades featured a careful use of brick, glazed brick and glass mosaic – colour and texture being particularly important component parts to the whole. The building was shortlisted for a National Brick Award.
