Lock Laker StandAdditional seats and new hospitality facilities are provided with this design scheme which has received approval to go ahead. The proposals form part of Surrey County Cricket Club’s ambitious expansion plans for this world famous and highly cherished sporting facility. This site is located in the south eastern corner of the ground and includes the redevelopment of the Lock Laker Stand and an integral building, One Oval Square. The proposals are carefully considered to resolve a number of very different issues and requirements. The resulting design expression is a story of two sides, the outside relating to the local vernacular, the inside reflecting the action on the pitch. Both combine to provide an optimal experience for fans.Externally, classical proportions and materials such as brick and reconstituted stone tie in with neighbouring residences. Facing the pitch is a bolder and more contemporary architectural language. In addition to the extra seats, the development will provide an all year round facility with hospitality areas, conference suites with pitch side views, bars and private terraces. For further information see our news page and our article A Design Story Of Two Sides.Contact: Steve Harvey, Billy RolloClient: Surrey County Cricket ClubSectors: Life and Leisure Mixed-Use
