Sympathetic design to provide new homes, retail and commercial space on a dilapidated brownfield site adjacent to the Piccadilly line.
The existing site consists of a number of warehouses in a poor state of repair. It is ideally located for transport links with Northfields Station situated directly adjacent to the site. The scheme will bring vacant retail space along the high street back into use, contributing to the local area.
Reflecting the rich brick heritage of the local area, the contemporary scheme is designed in masonry of varying tones, paired with metal panel accents. A pedestrianised colonnade runs the length of the linear site linking four new buildings which range from two to six storeys in height. Hard and soft landscaped gardens and rooftop terraces provide attractive outdoor amenity space. The design is both sympathetic and complimentary to its surrounding context.
In total, 76 apartments will be built, with 35% affordable residential accommodation by habitable room, including a 33% provision of larger family units.
