Focus on Detail: Lighting for City Reception

A dramatic cascade with bars of light forms the centerpiece of The Crosspoint reception in the City of London. The bespoke fitting is the result of a collaboration between Rolfe Judd Interiors and iGuzzini Special Projects.

The entrance is fully-glazed, double-height and faces Liverpool Street, towards the rear of the lobby the height reduces to single height. The space demanded a complimentary installation to suit both the size and shape of the space and the restrained internal monochromatic pallet of concrete, tiles and stainless steel. The design creates a striking view from the street, connects with the level above and draws users through the lobby to their destination.

The light feature is comprised of a series of vertical modules hanging from the ceiling of the double and single-height space. These contain over eighty illuminated tubes set at randomised angles and elevations. The supporting elements are fabricated from highly polished stainless steel to reflect the surrounding finishes and blend into the background.
