Project Art: Personal Space
The clear, authoritarian structure of the found object is claimed as a canvas upon which layers of dynamic complexity can emerge. The elements are rigorously challenged. They are compromised with colour, light and shadow, perspective, composition and framing.
Vaughn is an artist and designer working in London. Trained as an architect, he is fascinated by systems and structures created to facilitate everyday activity and how they respond to the unexpected challenges of everyday reality. His work is primarily sculptural, using layering, juxtaposition or reinterpretation of patterns, systems and forms found in the contemporary and modern world. Each piece draws on the geometry of a found object to adopt a grid, pattern or iconic form.
