Harbour Central

The Harbour Central Development has now been completed with the full design and fit out of all amenity spaces for GreyStar including all reception areas, lettings bar, business suite, residents lounges, gym and cinema room.

In response to the client brief, the concept for the ‘Sailmakers’ centres around  Nautical inspiration with historical relevance of the dockyards. It creates spaces that have the industrial elegance from the old warehouses of the area and interest created with textures and patterns.

The main concierge reception to Sirocco Tower features a top lit, bespoke stone feature wall, with gentle curved elements that were inspired by the billowing sails of the ships that filled the docks. The main reception desk has an industrial distressed oak top with oxidised brass studded panels. The entrance to the 28 storey Ostro tower, has a full length stone wall with inlayed brass ‘t shaped’ patterns echoing the silhouettes of the skyline of shop masts from the historic images of the area. Both buildings are named after winds that blow on the northern Mediterranean coast and a southerly wind in the Mediterranean Sea.

The resident gym occupies the 34th floor of Sirocco Tower with far reaching 360 views across London and beyond, It is equipped with state-of-the-art Technogym equipment. Facilities also include showers, chill-out area and is complimented by a suite of additional services such as a yoga / dance studio , treatment room and spinning room. Encaustic tiles to common areas together with low level panelling continue the palette of natural colours and materials.

There are a variety of spaces within the development that provide common spaces for ‘work, rest and play’, hopefully with easing of Covid restrictions these will be back in full use! The spaces include the residents lounge, the dining room, a club lounge, cinema room and a first floor co-working space with meeting rooms.

The residents lounge uses a combination of blues and whites to create a boat club feel to the space with a ‘bar-like’ kitchen for communal dining and library space for secluded reading and seating. A connected Cinema and Games room has a double height space but feels cosy, inviting and fun, with large comfy loose seating and a fabric padded acoustic wall.

A pool table and ‘big screen’ TV system complete the lounge facility which opens out onto two large communal roof terraces.

The club Lounge and dining room are located at the very top of the 35 storey Sirocco tower, and both have access to private roof terraces with breath-taking views. The brief was to create spaces that combined the sophistication of a club lounge with the warmth and social aspect of the local pub. The club lounge features a pool table ‘big screen’ TV’s and hospitality ‘bar’. The dining room offers a sophisticated dining and relaxing space with both spaces available for hire.

The co-working space on the first floor of Sirocco Tower is for residents to use as they please and takes its design inspiration from a start-up media company space. The flexible seating area group and individual working spaces, together with 2 private meeting rooms completes the amenities on offer at Sailmakers. There is an elegance in the simplicity of the designs that showcases the warm materials, creating a familiarity for the residents. A home away from home which is relaxed, informal and intimate.
