New Bond StreetPortland stone was chosen for the facade of this building to complete the quartet on the crossroad junction of New Bond Street and Bruton Street. The mixed-use, scheme in Mayfair utilises a single stair, which enables floor space to be maximised for office and retail use.Flexibility is designed into the façade to provide the opportunity for dual use, either office or retail at first floor level. Stack-bonded, handset stone contrasts with the delicate finesse of the lightweight windows, with the alternating triple glazed bays providing subtle but playful animation to what is a very strong and solid building. The palette and design approach is continued from the exterior street facade through to a reception clad in Portland stone, matched with a cool slate stone floor. Simple elegant lines create a calm and light entrance space with timber panels providing richness and warmth. The large glass artwork by Georgina Griffiths provides and ever changing backdrop to the space as sunlight and artificial light change the appearance of the cast and etched glass panels.Sectors: Offices
