The Crosspoint

Sustainable, new, Grade A office space, premier retail units and associated connecting pedestrian links, in the immediate vicinity of Liverpool Street Station.

Key facades to the original buildings on Bishopsgate are retained in this major development, which includes an eight storey elliptical tower. The scheme was developed from an original planning stage design by Blair Associates.

A dramatic cascade with bars of light forms the centerpiece of The Crosspoint reception in the City of London. The fully-glazed entrance lobby is double-height and faces Liverpool Street, with a change in height towards the rear of the lobby. A striking, bespoke lighting feature encourages movement through the space and compliments the black, geometric tiled wall alongside the restrained pallette of concrete and stainless steel.

The light feature is comprised of a series of vertical modules hanging from the ceiling of the double and single-height space, created in collaboration with iGuzzini Special Projects. The modules contain over eighty illuminated tubes set at randomised angles and elevations. The supporting elements are fabricated from highly polished stainless steel to reflect the surrounding finishes and blend into the background.

As well as providing detailed design, the team headed up the coordination phase and worked with the principle contractor, post novation through procurement to completion.
