Rolfe Judd Planning is excited to announce we secured a unanimous resolution from Redbridge Council’s Planning Committee last night to grant planning permission for a major mixed use redevelopment within Goodmayes. The scheme was described by one Councillor as the best scheme so far in the Crossrail Growth and Investment Corridor.
The scheme for Hadley Goodmayes Plc (joint venture between Hadley Property Group and Clarion Housing) will see the redevelopment of the former Homebase site on High Road, Goodmayes to create 1,342sqm of new commercial and community floorspace and 568 homes within 7 new buildings on the site rising from 4 storeys up to 20 storeys in height.
The scheme, designed by Stockwool Architects, will provide new public routes through the site, enhanced public realm and a range of public and private amenity spaces including allotments. A new public square in the heart of the development will create a vibrant destination for the community surrounded by a range of commercial uses.
The scheme has sustainability at its heart, comprising a car-free development, sustainable transport hub, electric car clubs and enhanced biodiversity on the site. The scheme will deliver 35% affordable housing and includes a range of apartment sizes.
Work is likely to start on the project in early 2022 and completed in phases by 2025.
