We are excited to announce that we have been shortlisted 3 times for the Planning Awards.

We have two projects in the category of Award for Planning for Affordable Housing; Osiers Road and Gallions 3B. We also have The Pears Maudsley Centre for Children and Young People shortlisted in the category of Award for Infrastructure Planning.

The Pears Maudsley Centre for Children and Young People is a unique project and a significant undertaking for NHS South London and Maudsley Foundation Trust, which provides the widest range of NHS mental health services in the UK.

This redevelopment will demolish the existing Felix Post Unit and Old Age Psychiatry building to deliver a new centre that will comprise of a part three, part five, part eight storey building and a lower ground floor, with external roof terraces at varying levels integrated into the design. It will create 9,662ssqm (an additional 8.531.5sqm) of new healthcare floorspace with new outpatient, inpatient, teaching, research and clinical facilities.

It has been designed to bring together, under one roof, world leading experts in mental health research and clinical care from the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, The Maudsley Charity and King’s College London.

Osiers Road has replaced the underused and dilapidated workshop buildings with a high quality residential-led mixed-use scheme with a new workspace hub for the area, which was crucially needed. This is a model for co-location living, delivering one stand-alone and two connected buildings, each of them with office space at ground and first floor, and residential units above.

It provides 168 homes (100% affordable) and large quantum of high quality flexible commercial floor space, replacing tired, outdated & underused buildings.

The high quality large public realm at the heart of the site offers new permeable connections and fulfils the urban design aspirations for the area.

Gallions 3B comprises 238 residential units (76% affordable) contained within two distinct urban blocks with heights ranging from three up to twelve storeys and a separate building of part seven/part nine storeys together with landscaping enhancements to the river frontage and the development of temporary open space to the north of the site.

It will establish a new emerging community that stitches into the existing Royal Albert Wharf masterplan and placemaking. This placemaking will positively address the significant stretch of waterfront to the east, the physical and environmental context, its history, and its potential future use, whilst establishing its own unique architectural character.

The winners will be revealed in a ceremony held at The IET Savoy Place on Thursday 8th June.
