Approval Secured for the Baitul Futuh Mosque

We have secured planning permission for a major new building at the Baitul Futuh Mosque in Morden on behalf of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association UK. The new scheme will deliver a replacement Nazir Hall with a stunning new facade and entrance building designed by John McAslan and Partners.

The Mosque, which is one of the largest mosques in Western Europe, suffered a devastating fire in 2016 to the administration building and Nazir Hall. In the aftermath of the fire the opportunity to refurbish the fire damaged elements and deliver significant improvements to the mosque and improve the appearance of the building was identified. The design allows for better administration facilities, improved accessibility to the building and better quality public realm. Accessibility and security to the site has been improved.

The AMA is grateful for the strong support from the local community including local residents and other faith groups as well the London Borough of Merton to help deliver this important facility for the borough.
