Best Mixed-Use Development for Carnaby Court
Rolfe Judd scooped the award for best Mixed-Use Development at last night’s Planning and Placemaking Awards for our Carnaby Court development.
Carnaby Court, in the heart of the vibrant Carnaby area, contains commercial and office space on the lower levels, with 10 high quality residential units on the upper floors. Working with our sister company Rolfe Judd Architecture, we delivered a scheme that makes the most of a tricky site that contributes positively to the local streetscape.
Recognised by the GLA as an exemplar of how to successfully integrate new development into an historic context, the scheme is seen as combining:
“The palette and form of Carnaby Street’s Georgian houses with vivid glazed tiles and modern shopfronts. The development reflects the street’s fashionable reputation by introducing new modern features and reinforcing its historic character”.
We also received a Highly Commended in the same category for our Filaments project in Wandsworth.
