London City Island Wins Development of the Year Award
EcoWorld Ballymore’s London City Island development won Development of the Year at the RESI Awards 2017, which were organised by Property Week. We attended the prestigious awards ceremony to celebrate the very best the industry has to offer at Grosvenor House in the West End.
The judges were impressed with this complex and challenging project which has enhanced the area, we are delighted that London City Island is been held up as an exemplar of true placemaking. What was once derelict industrial land has been transformed into a new neighbourhood of over 1,700 homes with new public spaces, a mix of leisure and retail uses and a new pedestrian bridge across the river. The development is also set to become a new cultural hub for London as the London Film School and English National Ballet moving in.
We have been working with EcoWorld, Ballymore and Glenn Howells Architects on the London City Island development since 2013. Our strategic planning advice has supported the delivery of this significant development.
