Workshop for George Green’s School students
Rolfe Judd Planning and the Ballymore Group visited George Green’s School on the Isle of Dogs to run a ‘Town Planning Day’ for Year 9 and Sixth Form students.
Jon Roshier, Siofra Boyd and Tom Lawson from Rolfe Judd Planning conducted a series of workshops for the students to discuss the role of town planning in society and how the planning system is leading to the transformation of the Isle of Dogs. Students were given the opportunity to plan and present their vision for new development on the Isle of Dogs.
The workshops were also intended to allow students to find out more about careers and working in the development industry – be it as a planner, a developer or architect. Jon Roshier, director at Rolfe Judd Planning said “this was a really good way for the students to learn about how the planning process is influencing and changing what is one of most important parts of London. What struck me in particular is that the younger generation are very positive about development and the changes it can bring”.
