The show must go on! Merton Committee grants planning permission for Wimbledon College of Art
Rolfe Judd Planning has secured committee approval from Merton Council for the refurbishment of Wimbledon College of Art. This is part of UAL’s multi-million pound investment to modernise their campus so that it reflects their status and requirements as a world-leading higher education provider. The main works are to the Theatre Annex building and will address water proofing, natural light, and thermal and acoustic performance concerns. The refurbished spaces will facilitate new specialised courses the university plans to offer. The new forecourt will be open to the community, enhance the streetscape and Merton Hall Road Conservation Area, and improve the ecology and biodiversity of the site as well as address localised flooding.
