Capitol WayA new development on Capitol Way and Stag Lane which will provide 414 new homes as well as offices/workspace, café and gym.The new residential units are located alongside 4,056 sqm of commercial accommodation introducing active uses along Capitol Way. A separate building fronting on to Stag Lane, on a smaller satellite site will provide approximately 1,800 sqm of B1(c) or B8 accommodation. Overall up to 217 new jobs could be created onsite. The scheme is for the demolition of the existing buildings on 1-8 Capitol Way which are a 9,000 sqm warehouse and ancillary office buildings. The site has been vacant for seven years due to lack of interest from suitable operators. In its place the new development will deliver several new buildings ranging from two to nine storeys. The residences are set around a series of generous communal semi-public gardens. Capitol Way will be fronted by the business hub and other commercial spaces which occupy the ground and mezzanine floors. The scheme benefits the wider surrounding area through the creation of additional employment, over 100 affordable homes and significant improvements to the surrounding public realm and local transport infrastructure.Team: Jan Donovan, John Osborn.Client: Neat Developments / Royal London Asset ManagementLPA: LB BrentArchitect: DunnettCravenSectors: Mixed-Use Residential
