Permission has been obtained from the London Borough of Ealing for a mixed-use development in Chiswick. Working alongside Pocket Living and PRP Architects we have secured planning permission for a building which varies in height from three to 14 storeys.
The brownfield island site is bounded on three sides by railway lines and this presented a number of challenges. It is also located at the juncture of traditional two storey Victorian houses, the high-tech Chiswick Business Park and the on-going major redevelopment at South Acton.
The scheme will deliver 112 new residential units, 75% of which will be affordable ‘Pocket’ homes. This equates to 9% of the Borough’s annual affordable housing target. Also part of the development is 2,760 sqm of flexible business floorspace. In comparison to the existing industrial use, this will result in a significant increase in employment opportunities.
The application was referred to the Greater London Authority, who were supportive of the scheme.
