The 30 Marsh Wall redevelopment scheme will deliver over 1,000 student bedrooms on a tight corner site on the Isle of Dogs, LB Tower Hamlets. Commercial uses are also proposed across the ground and lower ground floor levels to animate the streetscene and complement the student accommodation above.
The scheme also secures the creation of a new green link between Marsh Wall and Cuba Street, improving pedestrian permeability around the site and linking to the new public park proposed as part of the adjacent Cuba Street development which Rolfe Judd Planning also secured planning permission for.
Given its constraints, the site had previously experienced difficulty receiving planning permission for a residential-led development. New owners of the site, Tide Construction, brought Rolfe Judd Planning on board to explore alternative uses for the site which work commercially but would also be supported by the Council.
Planning permission was granted by LB Tower Hamlets in July 2022 with an anticipated start on site of 2023.
