Battersea High Street

The redevelopment of four sites on Battersea High Street in Wandsworth to provide new residential accommodation, a replacement recording studio and an improved public route through the site.

Previously housing a recording studio, 22 lock-up garages and railway embankment, plans for the site comprise of a high quality, mixed-use development that seeks to successfully regenerate the site, while providing much needed housing. The block will range in height from three to seven storeys, and contain 77 residential units, of which 21% are affordable. Improvements to permeability of the site also feature, through the creation of a new west-east pedestrian link through the site.

We worked closely with Wandsworth Council and the local community to ensure that the designs would complement, adjacent heritage assets, considered the daylight and sunlight of neighbouring residential properties, as well as ensuring no loss of employment occurred through the re-provision of the recording studio. A resolution to grant was issued in November 2015.
