Planning permission obtained from the London Borough of Wandsworth for a 26 storey, residential tower for Pocket Living, comprising 86 homes including 63 affordable homes.
Bounded by the River Wandle and a service road, we considered the site to have the opportunity to deliver a tall building, which would rise above the existing streetscape. Working with architects Metropolitan Works, we secured the support of the planners at Wandsworth Council and the officers at the GLA for a tall, slender tower, which activates the ground floor with public realm improvements and has an innovative tiled faceted facade.
The scheme delivers 86 residential units – 63 are Pocket’s signature affordable one bed units, and 23 open market units. A major benefit was the provision of a new walkway to the River Wandle, which provides new public access adjacent to the river. The scheme is currently under construction
