Paxton House, a previously vacant four storey office building, has been transformed. It is now a residential building of outstanding quality, incorporating a number of extensions and alterations.
The brief comprised securing prior approval for a change of use from existing offices to provide 36 units. Subsequent planning applications were also made for an infill extension, providing an additional three units, and a roof extension, providing an additional four units. In total the development provides 43 new homes, 37 one bedroom units and six two bedroom units.
Planning permission was also secured for alterations to the façade of the building which features a distinctive angled balustrade arrangement. This form ensures privacy from neighbouring apartments and adjoining gardens, while maximising the open view from the interior.
