Skylines is a residential-led, mixed-use redevelopment of an important site. It is within both the Isle of Dogs & South Poplar Opportunity Area and the South Quay Masterplan SPD area.

The scheme comprises 579 new homes of which 35% are affordable housing. In addition it also re-provides and uplifts employment floorspace and includes a new two-form entry primary school with a MUGA (Multi-Use Games Area).

Designed by Farrells the proposals have been granted planning permission and are considered by officers to be of high architectural quality. An original scheme some years earlier was reworked with lower density and improved permeability. Heights and massing provide a transition in scale within the site from the high density development to the north to the lower density residential properties to the south and east.

In close proximity to excellent transport links, the triangular site comprises an arrangement of five new buildings. They range in height from the four storey school to residential towers of 23, 27 and 49 storeys, a new business centre is twelve storeys. Landscaped open space includes a new public piazza with future pedestrian connection to Chipka Street and ground and podium level communal amenity space.
