This scheme will provide much needed housing for Lambeth and create a vibrant residential neighbourhood in Streatham whilst helping to reinvigorate a brownfield site, boosting the local economy and creating cleaner, greener spaces.
Hadley Property Group and Clarion Housing Group have a strategic joint venture partnership delivering high quality residential-led mixed-use developments throughout London and other major urban centres. A new specific joint venture partnership (Hadley Streatham LLP) was established, along with a coherent project team to comprehensively redevelop the site.
It involves the redevelopment (including demolition) of a Homebase retail store and car park in Streatham to deliver a mixed-use development including the erection of four buildings up to 14 storeys in height and comprising up to 237 new high-quality homes (including 35% affordable), a new, larger home for Streatham Vale GP Surgery, substantial public realm, play space and an integrated sustainable transport hub, disabled parking spaces, refuse storage and cycle parking including ancillary workshop.
The project have been developed to maximise the capacity of the Brownfield Site and deliver significant planning benefits, including the creation of a safer environment on Woodgate Drive through active frontages and much improved natural surveillance; consolidated town centre floor space in the form of a GP Surgery with active frontages to Streatham Vale, complementing the Streatham Local Centre; the provision of an innovative and sustainable transport centre; and significant greening of the public realm, including enhancements to biodiversity.
