West Green Place

Plans are approved by the London Borough of Haringey for the demolition of the existing buildings on a brownfield site in Tottenham, and for the provision of 126 residential units with new community centre and nursery.

The scheme, which follows Pocket Living’s signature business model of affordable housing, provides 98 affordable and 28 private units. This includes 16 townhouses and four blocks of flatted accommodation ranging in height from three to five storeys.

The blocks and townhouses are arranged along a central avenue replicating the traditional street pattern of the surrounding area. The high quality landscape, involving a Metropolitan Open Land swap, has been designed to integrate into the adjoining Downhills Park.

The scheme also involves the creation of a new community centre and nursery at the entrance to the site, adjacent to a new public square and new pedestrian route through to Downhills Park.

The application was referred to the Greater London Authority and Secretary of State who have confirmed they are satisfied for the application to be approved by the London Borough of Haringey. Planning permission has now been granted.
