Two former Victorian school buildings are sensitively restored and converted. The addition of new town houses completes a desirable new place to live.
The Mary Datchelor School site is set in a conservation area and comprises approximately 0.85 hectares (2.1 acres). Nearby is Camberwell Green with its cosmopolitan mix of shops, bars, restaurants and pubs. The development was optimised to its full potential and includes both private and affordable homes.
The refurbishment of the school buildings contrasts the original Victorian architecture with a contemporary interior, bringing a sense of grandeur to the apartments. Similarly, the addition of the row of Georgian style town houses contrasts period features with design-led interiors. Mature garden landscaping completes the development.
