Rolfe Judd Planning are pleased to have helped secure planning consent at Channing School for works to Brunner House.

Channing School is an independent girl’s school located in Highgate, within the London Borough of Haringey. The extension and remodelling of Brunner House will enable the school to rationalise its science department and provide Design Technology as part of its curriculum for the first time.

The project team made a conscious effort to retrofit and extend the building to meet the school’s needs. In addition to securing additional teaching spaces, the works will address lack of equal access, poor insultation and ventilation, overheating and poor circulation faced by the existing building. The works will also adapt the external appearance of the building so that it more successfully integrates with the rest of the site. The planning application had to particularly consider the impact on multiple heritage and conservation assets.

This project marks a continuation of our long-standing relationship where we have previously secured consent for an indoor sport, music and performing arts facility at the senior school and a new school hall, changing facilities and classrooms at the junior school.

Rolfe Judd Planning were delighted to have been invited by the school to support them in these proposals. We are looking forward to see the benefits it brings to local children and the wider community.
