Proximo I and Proximo II form a successful, high-quality office development of two distinct buildings. Both are located next to each other on the busy Warsaw thoroughfare of Prosta Street which is a rapidly growing part of the new business district. The site is located between the new metro station and The Museum of Warsaw Uprising.
This contemporary office complex utilises all of the advantages of the location providing 42,000 square metres of Class AA office space, ground floor retail units and a new public realm. The project was developed as two independent phases which form one striking development.
All of the site constraints had been carefully considered to create users’ friendly office spaces as well as to properly compose the buildings into the neighbourhood. The two L-shaped blocks create a strongly defined complex which is opened to the public via ground-floor passages and undercrofts.
The building name alludes to Proxima Centauri, the nearest known star to the sun. This concept is reflected in the whole development, starting in the entrance constellation design through the interiors and core design. Entrance lobby areas were designed in collaboration with Pininfarina, the renowned international design studio.
Sustainability measures to reduce energy consumption include eco-friendly materials and an intelligently controlled building services system.
These and a range of other measures mean that the building has achieved a BREEAM Excellent rating.
