Major mixed use regeneration scheme approved for Joseph Homes
After a frustrating month long wait after an unexpected deferral in September, RJP on behalf of Joseph Homes, secured planning approval at Southwark’s planning committee on Monday evening for the redevelopment of the Daisy Business Park in the Old Kent Road Opportunity Area. Located approximately 200m from the proposed Bakerloo Line extension and new station on the Old Kent Road, the site is designated within the draft Old Kent Road AAP and the emerging New Southwark Plan as suitable for a mixed-use development, providing new homes as well as an uplift in the employment space on site.
In line with the aspirations of the Old Kent Road AAP, the development designed by HTA architects and landscape will deliver a part five and part 32 storey building which will provide 219 homes, of which 35% will be affordable. The development delivers nearly 3,000sqm of flexible office and light industrial space within a standalone commercial building with on-site servicing. At the heart of the development will be 700sqm public space which forms part of a green chain of spaces with other developments in the area.
