Redevelopment of the Ovalhouse Theatre site for Surrey County Cricket Club. Adjacent to The Kia Oval cricket ground, the demolition of the theatre will make way for the new Oval Hotel which has 95 bedrooms. Also on the site is the Grade II listed White House which will be sensitively refurbished to provide new offices and accommodation. Both facilities will support the Club’s Academy and Performance Programme.
The site became available, following the planned relocation of the theatre to a fully accessible modern facility in Somerleyton Road in Brixton. The old theatre building was unsuitable for refurbishment.
We have been advising the Club over many years on the continued enhancement of their stadium facilities. This site forms a key element of the club’s wider redevelopment plans and demonstrates the club’s commitment to the local area.
Our other projects for Surrey County Cricket Club include the Peter May Stand, Lock Laker Stand and One Oval Square.
